1. What equipment will I need?
Players are required to wear shin guards with socks covering them. Players should wear soccer shoes which have rubber cleats. Players should possess their own soccer ball. The size depends on the age: U-6-U-8 size 3, U-10-U12 size 4, U-13-up size 5.

2. Where do I purchase equipment and uniforms?
Most all sporting good stores carry soccer related gear. Your coach will advise you on the uniform and where to purchase it. Some athletic stores run specials on balls, shin guards, and shoes. Call around.

3. How are teams picked?
Teams are formed in U-6 by signing together as a group. Existing teams select players from a player draft. New players are assigned a number at draft time.

4. Can my child play on his brothers, cousin, etc. team?
Players may sign up together as a car-pool but are not allowed to sign up directly to a team. Players cannot request a particular team. U-5 & U-6 zero season players may sign up together.

5. Can my child play with older children?
Yes a child may play up in age but not down.

6. How will I know when my child is selected?
You should receive a call from your child’s coach sometime during the draft selection or the following week after. If there are more children than can be drafted the board will try to build an additional team(s).

7. When does the season start?
Season dates are set by the Board of Directors which usually start around the end of August and the first of March.

8. Is there a number I can call for general information?

9. Where and when are games played?
The majority of all games are played at Lindsey Fields on Saturdays. Your coach should give you a time schedule. On occasion games may be played during the week after work.

10. Is my child insured?
Yes, however the insurance in place is a supplemental policy not intended for use as primary coverage. You must notify your coach and a board member in the event of an injury.

11. Can my company sponsor my child’s team?
We encourage donations however sponsors logos must not distract from the game nor hide or conceal the jersey number. We do not recommend that your child’s name be placed on the back of the jersey.

12. Do the boys and the girls play together (co-ed)?
We have separate divisions for each gender however a girl may elect to play on a boys team in the boys division. If a boy plays on a girls team, the team must play in the boys division.

13. Are there awards given for first place?
Yes, teams in the U-10 and up divisions play for placement and a chance to participate in the Tournament of Champions held in Dallas each year. U-6 and U-8 players receive participation awards.

14. What is the youngest player allowed?
To be eligible to play during the Fall a player must be 4 years old by July 31 and to be eligible to play during the Spring a player must be 4 years old by December 31.

15. What if my child becomes injured?
If the injury is soccer related, such as during team practice or on the playing field, it is your duty to inform an official of the league. Casts, splints or anything of that nature are not allowed on game day no matter how well they are padded. An open or bleeding wound will be cause for removal from the playing field by a referee.

16. Who supplies the game ball on game day?
The home team listed either by home or listed first is responsible for the game ball and is responsible for alternate jerseys in case of a color conflict.

17. How much does registration cost?
Recreational Soccer registration cost $55.00 per season (Spring and Fall)

18. How old does my child have to be to play soccer?
To play in the Fall season your child must be 4 on or before July 31st of that season. To play in the spring season they must be 4 on or before December 31st of that season.

19. When is registration?
Fall Registration is always the month of July. Spring Registration is always the month of January.

20. When is Walk-In Registration?
Walk-In Registration is always the last two week-ends of the month. July for the Fall and January for the Spring.

21. When will my child's team practice.
Practice dates and times are determined by the team coach. Generally the coach will set the date and times on what is most convenient for the parents on the team.

22. Can you explain the "U" levels - is that just the child's age?
U = "Under" as of cutoff date (7/31-8/1). Example: If you child is 9 on or before 7/31 he will be an Under 10 (U-10). Even if he turns 10 on 8/1, he is still considered a U-10.

23. At what point do we have to turn in birth certificates?
You need to mail, fax, email or bring it by ASAP. We prefer to have it before draft, but must have it before the season starts.

THERE ARE NO PRACTICES OR PRACTICE GAMES ALLOWED AT LINDSEY PARK. SUSPENSIONS ARE IMPOSED FOR VIOLATIONS FOR THIS RULE. TEAMS ARE REQUIRED TO FURNISH 3 ADULT WORKERS FOR THE CONCESSION AT A SPECIFIED TIME.

EACH PERSON YOU CONTACT CONCERNING SOCCER IS A VOLUNTEER GIVING UP THEIR FREE TIME SO THAT YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN MAY ENJOY THEIRS. WE ALWAYS HAVE ROOM FOR MORE VOLUNTEERS AND LESS CRITICISM.

REFEREES ARE PAID FOR THEIR SERVICES ON GAME DAYS. ANY COMPLAINTS MUST BE IN WRITING AND NOT VERBAL ON THE FIELD. VERBAL COMPLAINTS TOWARDS A REFEREE WILL RESULT IN TEAM SANCTIONS AND/OR EJECTION FROM THE PLAYING FIELDS.
